We are days from Hans' auditions. They take place in
the month of February. Everyone is a bit stressed out. When only 10% of all
kids applied to a program get in, that is a natural reaction I believe! At this
point in time, I don't want Hans stressed out. He started his training about 15
months ago. I am amazed that he didn't quit at some point. I am definitely
proud of him whether he gets in or not. However, as a parent, I am required to
give the token pep talks once in a while.
To keep things light, I decided to use some
"washroom" words for a change. Those types of words have always
tickled Hans' funny bones and I have always objected to them. So, I thought I
could use them to show my support of his diligence and efforts.
Hans, sweetie,
we only have a few more days. So, work your butt off. While you are at it, work
your ass off as well. And don't forget to work your arse off too!
Hans was visibly shocked for a moment; however, he
quickly recovered to say the following:
How do you
expect me to do the audition if I don't have a butt?!
Usually, Hans laughs uncontrollably when he hears any
of those words. He kept quite the poker face this time.
I sure hope he does the same during the auditions when
some other kids are making "donkeys" of themselves!
Good luck kid! And good luck everyone. May you succeed
in all your endeavours this year and every other year!
